Meet Abigail and Chloe

As an incredibly caring mother and caregiver, Abigail is inspired by Women Build and how compassionate women come together to empower one another and help women like her build a better future.

A full-time certified nursing assistant (CNA), Abigail cares for elderly patients at a senior care facility. She enjoys working with seniors and getting to know each of them. She is also working toward becoming a licensed practical nurse (LPN), which will allow her to explore more opportunities in her nursing career.

Abigail is mom to five-year old Chloe, an adorable little girl who loves trampolines and going to the zoo. Currently, Abigail and Chloe live with Abigail’s grandparents. In their current living situation, Chloe does not have her own room and has only a small space in the corner of the family living room to keep her toys.

Abigail has worked hard for years, but the struggle to find an affordable place to live has left her with no options but to raise her daughter in her grandparents’ home. But through Knoxville Habitat, her dream of providing her daughter with more is about to change!

Abigail looks forward to living in a community where Chloe can grow up with other children in a close-knit neighborhood. “I love meeting the new families who will be living in the neighborhood; everyone is so very nice!” Chloe will finally have her own room and more space to play. As a homebuyer, Abigail is excited to decorate her first home and make it her own (She is especially excited about throwing her favorite color, pink, in the decorating plans!).
